Description
Royal couple that form part of a composition to celebrate one of the most popular Japanese traditions. Every 3rd of March, as part of Hina Matsuri celebrations, girls are given Hina Dolls, which are placed together on a stand to create the Hina Ningyo, granting the girls a happy life. This piece is distinctive for the characters’ child-like features. Their kimonos are a faithful and finely executed reproduction of those worn in the Japanese imperial court of the Heian period.
